Notes from March 2012 PCPD Support Group Meeting

Posted March 30, 2012

On March 5, 2012 our PCPD group listened to a presentation by Terri Lynas and Ashley Paul from 1st Choice Pediatric Home Care. Terri Lynas started this company out of frustration with the homecare agencies she was working with for her chronically ill and disabled son. 1st Choice Pediatric Home Care is one of the many home care agencies within MN.   The focus of the discussion was accessing PCA and/or nursing services.   Ashley Paul indicated many families with children with disabilities may be unaware that they may qualify for nursing care over PCA.   1st Choice Pediatrics will complete a free medical assessment to help determine the level of care your child may qualify for.   They are also able to help families explore different funding options. For more informatio, individuals can view their website at www.1stchoicepediatric.com or contact Terri or Ashley at 612-770-4177.  Download the 1st Choice Pediatrics brochure or the information sheet "Helpful Information: TERFA, Disability Qualification, People Who Need Care at Home, Home and Community Based Waivers".
